Meet Claire
As a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development, and following an 18-year career in HR, I was fortunate to have been able to fulfil a desire to gain a law degree and practise as a solicitor and notary public, working in the fields of private client, litigation, and conveyancing. Ultimately, however, it was an invitation to return to my first and life-long love of language, and to work with words and people, that proved irresistible.
Now a premium writer, quality moderator and trainer with The James Innes Group and The CV Centre (both of which operate globally), I draw together skills and knowledge from each of my professional areas of expertise – language, HR, and law – and, quite simply, I love my job. I have the privilege and pleasure of writing on behalf of clients working at all levels and in all industries around the world, and I also advise on recruitment strategy and processes, and deliver interview coaching.
External auditors also rated a recruitment policy that I wrote for a public sector employer as “the best across Scotland”, on account of its clarity and ease of use, while the two academic theses that I submitted on different areas of employment law as part of my LL.M. and M.Sc. studies were both awarded with distinction. Finally, one of Scotland’s Supreme Courts judges evaluated a speech that I wrote and delivered (prior to qualifying as a solicitor) as “virtually flawless”.
Perhaps most importantly, I act as ally and advocate for each of my clients, and I do everything that is within my gift to support them to put their best foot forward for the career journey ahead.
